About the band

With a new range of vocals, talent and tour experience, Bread of Stone hits the mark with their highly anticipated, long awaited third album, “Saturate” produced by Grammy award winner Tedd T. (Mute Math, TobyMac, Britt Nicole,) and Lynn Nichols (Delirious, The Elms.)

Indonesian brothers Ben and Bill Kristijanto along with their other band mates Tim Barnes (bass) and Wesley Holt (drums) showcased their musical maturity from the previous albums showing the transparency of the guys. Their goal is to share what God has been doing in their lives personally and as a group.

The pop/ rock 5 song EP features “Beautiful,” the first single released to radio, which was inspired after a trip to Indonesia. “The song was lyrically inspired by one of the lessons learned there,” said lead singer, Ben Kristijanto. “We spoke to a recent convert named Abraham and he told us that when he heard about the Gospel of Christ, he was in awe of how someone so great would come down for someone like him and take his desperate and bleak situation and turn into something beautiful.” Other songs included on the EP: It’s Time to Live, Parachute, The Answer, and the title track, Saturate.

Also when the band recently visited Indonesia to do mission work, something started stirring within them - a passion and love for their fellow countrymen started growing and a new vision emerged, “The Light Project.” “This ministry was something we started in order to reach out to the unfortunate community in Indonesia,” said guitarist, Bill Kristijanto. “We are working in partnership with a local church in Surabaya to help spread the love of Christ, one community at a time, more specifically, the scavengers.”

The Light Project provides food, transportation, and other necessities to the unfortunate community in Indonesia. They work with the poorest of the poor. They share God’s love through action and deed, and through individual and personal encounters. As St. Francis of Assisi once said, “Preach the Gospel at all times and when necessary use words.”.

Bread of Stone has toured with some of the top names in Christian music including the Newsboys, Stellar Kart, DecembeRadio, Petra, Building 429, and many others. This Spring, the group will be touring with Superchick.

Q: How did you get involved with the band? A friend was at the Kristijanto's place; they told him they needed a bass player. He told me about the situation, and I gave Ben a call a few days later. I auditioned, and then took some time to think and pray. I felt a deep calling from the Lord, and two weeks later I found myself on the road.
Q: When did you start to play the Bass, and what inspired you to play? My Dad inspired me by his involvement in music since he was at a young age. I had gone through many different instruments and ended up sticking with the Bass guitar. I was 14 at the time and have been playing ever since.
Q: What other tasks do you perform in the band? I do a lot of video blogs, and occasionally take photos. I think its good for the fans to be able to see what goes on from time to time. I also help with programming our light show, and assisting in running lights for other bands on tours or during festivals.
Q: How many more siblings do you have, and what school did you attend? I have five other siblings: two older brothers, two older sisters and a twin sister. My siblings and I were all homeschooled all the way from kindergarten through high school.

Every little detail.
Q: When and where were you born? November 10 - Sioux City, Iowa
Q: What is your favorite food? Chelow Kabab: a national dish of Iran consisting of basmati rice and kabab, with grilled tomatoes on the side, a slice of butter on top, and somagh sprinkled over. Yum, yum!
Q: What was your home life like growing up? Everything we do as a family is Christ-centered. I went to school, and life was pretty typical, but we knew that the Lord has something for us. It wasn't until about eight years ago, when the Lord called us to do this music ministry, that my life was thrown off the normal course and started on the track of serving Him.
Q: Who would you trade lives with for a day? Adam. Right before Eve eats the fruit, I'd scream, "NOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
Q: Where were you born? West Monroe, Louisiana but I spent most of my life in the great state of Texas.
Q: What got you into drumming? I come from a musical family so it made sense that I would pick up an instrument. Every Sunday when I went to church I found myself always gravitating towards the drums and being amazed by them. When I was twelve I started playing percussion in school and then eventually got a drum set and I've been playing ever since.
Q: What is your favorite food? My mom's homemade chicken fried steak and twice baked potatoes.
Q: Besides drumming, what is your favorite pass time? When I'm not playing drums, you can usually find me somewhere listening to music or watching a movie. I also have a huge weakness for video games, particularly FIFA soccer. I know, I need to grow up.
